Children Worship

If you would like to volunteer with our children’s ministries, please email Morgan, our Youth & Families Director. You must be trained in Safeguarding God’s Children. It is a short class that is taken online. Please contact Deacon Gary Cartwright and he will set you up with the website and the code you need to take the class. It’s free of charge.

Family Room: While in the sanctuary, accessible by the chapel is our Family Room, which is a space created especially for our young families to use during both services in the event that your little ones need a quick break. In this space you will find available rocking chairs, a crib, a changing table, various toys and Busy Bags that children can take back to service with them, and a television that live-streams the service. Feel free to utilize this space at any time!

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION FOR OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

We offer a number of opportunities for our children in Pre-K and elementary school.

Intergenerational Worship: For our 10:30 AM service on Sunday mornings, we encourage children to stay and worship with their families in the church, giving our young children a sense of belonging among us. We accommodate our children by offering a children’s lesson in the middle of the readings, Pew Partners for children to sit with, liturgical activity sheets, busy bags, and our Family Room.

Sunday School – All Ages: During our Sunday School hour (9:30 -10:15 AM), there is a class for every age. Elementary-aged & pre-k children are invited to take part in the Godly Play children’s lesson in Classroom 1 of Kiser Hall. “Godly Play wonderfully presents Baptism, Communion, the Liturgical Year, and the rich stories of the Bible in such a way that a foundation is laid to enrich their faith not only now but through the years ahead. The GP culture creates an atmosphere in which stillness, readiness, storytelling, and wonder become the holy ground wherein an encounter with God takes place.” – Fr. Steve Rudacille, Godly Play teacher here at Holy Innocents’

Special Events: Check out our Facebook page and the website calendar for additional special youth and children events.

Meetings for Young Families: Plan to join us quarterly for our Young Families meetings, where families with young children are invited to come and discuss how our children’s ministries are going and what we can do to improve. We also plan and discuss special events at these times. Annual events include:

  • Monthly Family Outings
  • Summer Vacation Bible School week
  • Fall Trunk-or-Treat
  • Winter Parents Night Out (babysitting fundraiser)
  • Easter Egg Hunt & Family Breakfast
